Method

How records become occasions.

A signal is the result of several successive stages of work. Each of them is designed to keep every statement verifiable.

Capture

We maintain our own database of German companies with address, legal form, capital, corporate purpose, management and representation. It is continuously supplemented and updated.

Classification

Each company is assigned, on the basis of its corporate purpose, to one of 651 industries of the European classification. The procedure is our own; it is verifiable and always returns the same answer for the same text.

Linkage

People are recognised across companies. Industries are connected by 14,717 substantiated supply relationships. Individual records thus form a structure in which connections can be read.

Detection

For every theme, we examine the entire database for a defined set of characteristics. The criteria form part of our method. The result is a statement about the situation of a company that can be substantiated by its own records.

Review

Companies in liquidation or insolvency appear only in the themes that deal with exactly that. Anyone who has objected to the use of their data remains permanently excluded from every list.

Updating

The database is re-evaluated at regular intervals. New entries are added; entries that lapse are recorded as dormant. With every cycle, a history accumulates from which changes can be read.

Principles

What applies to every list.

We draw no conclusions about origin or faith from names.

Characteristics that indicate a risk describe the situation of a company. They imply no judgement about individuals.

Every statement in a list can be verified against the company itself.
